MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE

Magnesium is quite the hot topic in the health and wellness field these days! But, as a shock to no one… There are a million options, and it is SOOO hard to sift through the information to figure out which one is best for us and our bodies!

First and foremost, it is important to know that our bodies need magnesium! It is an essential mineral and electrolyte. For most adults, the daily, healthy range of magnesium is 300-420 mg.

Our bodies can get enough magnesium through diet and supplements, and when we have the proper levels, magnesium can help with:

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Reduce risk of stroke, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes

  • Improve bone health

  • Prevent migraine headaches

MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE

With the launch of our newest Innergize! Zero, we wanted to dive into why we formulated it with Magnesium Glycinate instead of another version of magnesium.

Magnesium Glycinate is made by combining elemental magnesium with the amino acid glycine.

Glycine is a non-essential amino acid (the body produces it on its own), which is the building block for proteins, collagen in particular. It is also the precursor to creatine and acts as a neurotransmitter to the brain. It also may help protect your cells from oxidative damage and can aid in regulating blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity.

This pairing is highly bioavailable, meaning your body can easily absorb it! This makes it one of the more popular versions of magnesium. Plus, it is unlikely to cause an upset stomach, which is common with some other forms of magnesium.

Magnesium glycinate can help with:

  • Reliving anxiety

  • Promoting bone health

  • Improving exercise performance

  • Managing blood sugar

  • Maintaining regular heart rhythms

  • Reducing PMS symptoms

To add more magnesium to your diet, you can eat dark leafy greens, nuts and seeds, seaweed, whole unrefined grains, fruits and fish (especially halibut).

And, as we mentioned before you can always supplement! We, obviously, recommend Innergize! Zero!

One serving of innergize! Zero has 50 mg of magnesium! By adding it into your daily routine, you can make a good dent in your daily magnesium goal AND have a refreshing, crisp, orange drink. Sounds like a win-win to us. 🍊
